Statement by DLGA Chair and Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan on the Two Year Anniversary of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization

Marking the two year anniversary of the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Democratic Lt. Governors Association (DLGA) Chair and Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan released the following statement:

“When the Supreme Court reversed Roe V. Wade two years ago today, Democratic lieutenant  governors quickly stepped up to the plate to protect women’s rights in states across the country, and we have continued to do so ever since.

“This year, Republicans are on record opposing women’s right to make their own personal health care decisions that are best for themselves and their families. Reproductive rights are on the ballot in states like North Carolina, where extremists like Hal Weatherman have made it clear that he wants to fully control women’s reproductive health care by banning abortion.

“Electing Democrats up and down the ballot is the only way to protect reproductive freedom for millions of women across the country and prevent Republicans from stripping women of their fundamental freedoms. In the meantime, Democratic lieutenant governors will continue to lead the way.”
