Hunt Has Raised $1.9 Million to Date, Setting Historic Record for an LG Race
Hunt Raised More in Q2 Than Weatherman Has the Entire Campaign
Today, North Carolina LG Republican nominee Hal Weatherman announced he only has $113,000 COH, with Democratic nominee Rachel Hunt having a 10:1 advantage with over $1M COH.
Earlier this month, Hunt announced her campaign has raised $1.9 million to date, setting records for a Lieutenant Governor’s race in North Carolina.
Hunt raised more in Q2 than Weatherman has raised over the entirety of his campaign. She also raised double the amount Weatherman did during Q2, bringing in $1M in comparison to Weatherman’s $400k.
“Hal Weatherman’s abysmal fundraising numbers shows how much North Carolinians are ready to be done with the Mark Robinson era of extremism in the lieutenant governor’s office,” said DLGA Executive Director Kevin Holst. “Rachel Hunt’s record breaking fundraising haul signals a clear sign: that North Carolinians are ready to have a common-sense leader in the lieutenant governor’s office that will fight to protect safe and legal abortion, will strengthen North Carolina’s public schools and expand access to quality, affordable childcare.”
