NEW PPP Poll Shows Stratton Surging in Polls, Leading Krishnamoorthi by 3 Points Despite $7.5 Million Spent by MAGA-Aligned Crypto Industry to Boost Him

Despite Spending More Than $25 Million on TV Statewide & Getting Boosted by MAGA Super PAC, Krishnamoorthi Continues to Lose Ground with Voters

WASHINGTON, DC – A new poll from Public Policy Polling shows that with less than two weeks to Election Day, Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton is leading Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi by three points in the Illinois U.S. Senate Race.

The movement towards Stratton comes despite Krishnamoorthi pouring more than $25 million into paid TV advertising, running attack ads on Stratton, and accepting a $7.5 million boost on broadcast from a Trump-aligned crypto industry Super PAC.

Stratton has the support of 33% voters, a 6-point gain from a PPP poll last week showing her at 27%. Krishnamoorthi is at 30%, up just 1 point from last week’s poll but down from 34% in early February. Robin Kelly remains in a distant third place with just 11% support, down 2 points from last week’s poll.

Despite being massively out-communicated for months, Juliana’s momentum, standout debate performances, and growing coalition of support have erased Krishnamoorthi’s lead. As voters continue to hear her message, they join her.

The poll also finds that Krishnamoorthi’s favorability continues to drop as voters learn more about him. Since February, his favorability has gone from a +36 net favorability rating to +9, indicating that voters are holding increasingly negative opinions about Krishnamoorthi in the closing weeks of the race as they learn about him taking tens of thousands of dollars from ICE contractors and voting to thank ICE even as they were actively attacking immigrant communities across Chicago.

“With just two weeks to Election Day, Krishnamoorthi is seeing Juliana’s momentum and panicking. Despite the tens of millions of MAGA dollars being spent on his behalf, he has been unable to sell voters on his weak record,” said DLGA Executive Director Kevin Holst. “The more voters see of Juliana, the more they support her – because her progressive message of a $25 minimum wage, Medicare for All, and standing up to Donald Trump is exactly the kind of leadership Democratic voters are demanding right now.
