First Democrat to Win North Carolina LG Since 2008
WASHINGTON – Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) Chair and Minnesota Lieutenant Governor Peggy Flanagan released the following statement congratulating Rachel Hunt’s victory in North Carolina:
“Congratulations to Senator Rachel Hunt on her victory in becoming North Carolina’s next Lieutenant Governor. North Carolinians can now close the chapter on the era of Mark Robinson, and welcome a strong leader like Rachel with a record of service who will fight to protect women’s rights, strengthen our public schools, and expand access to affordable health care. Rachel is the proven leader North Carolinians need with a deep commitment to the state, and will remain steadfast in protecting and strengthening North Carolina’s fundamental freedoms.
