WASHINGTON – Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) Chair and Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis released the following statement on the passing of President Jimmy Carter:
“Jimmy Carter was a good president, but a great man, whose life was marked by an unwavering commitment to service, humanity and peace. As the 39th President of the United States, his landmark achievements promoted democracy and human rights around the world, and left a lasting imprint on international relations and peace and prosperity.
“His leadership extended far beyond the Oval Office, with a longstanding legacy in humanitarian work as he built affordable housing, promoted democracy across the globe, and helped to wipe out an endemic disease. Blayre and mine’s thoughts and prayers are with their family and loved ones. May his memory serve as a blessing and inspiration.”
