DLGA statement on election night in Ohio

Whaley / Stephens Advance to General Election

WASHINGTON — The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association released the following statement regarding Primary Night in Ohio.

“The DLGA congratulates Nan Whaley and Cheryl Stephens on winning the Democratic Nomination for Governor and Lt. Governor in Ohio. Mayor Whaley was an effective leader as Mayor of Dayton and Cheryl Stephens has been an advocate for affordable housing and neighborhood revitalization in communities that needed them most. They are ready to bring honest leadership and bold policy positions to Columbus that will represent everyone in the Buckeye State,” said DLGA Chair Lt. Governor Bethany Hall-Long of Delaware.

DLGA Executive Director Roshan Patel added, “The Whaley / Stephens ticket will be a force to be reckoned with this November. We will be ready to take on Mike Dewine and Jon Husted from Day One.”

The DLGA is an independent voluntary political organization that provides resources and policy assistance to candidates in their campaigns for Lieutenant Governor. The DLGA is proud to support current Democratic Lieutenant Governors in 21 states and 3 U.S. territories.
