DLGA Statement on Inauguration Day

WASHINGTON – Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) Chair and Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis released the following statement on Inauguration Day:

“On the day when we come together to remember the legacy of one of our nation’s greatest civil rights leaders, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Americans are also witnessing the peaceful transfer of power and continuation of our democracy.

“As the country braces for uncertainty of what lies ahead, Democratic Lieutenant Governors remain steadfast in our commitment to serving the American people. We represent more than half of the nation’s population, earning the trust of voters by working across party lines and tackling the critical issues facing Americans. Democratic Lieutenant Governors are partners to governors, links to the legislature, and channels to our communities. No matter how one voted, we hope for our nation’s success and prosperity.

“Today, we reaffirm our commitment to fight against any threats and challenges posed by the incoming administration. The American people can count on their Democratic Lieutenant Governors to continue to defend their fundamental freedoms and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed.”
