WASHINGTON — The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association congratulates Shemia Fagan on her general election victory in Oregon.
“Congratulations to Shemia Fagan on her general election victory tonight. As Oregon’s next Secretary of State, Shemia will stand up for Oregon families to protect and expand our fundamental right to vote,” said New York Lieutenant Governor and DLGA Chair Kathy Hochul. “The Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association – which includes Secretaries of State serving as their states’ Second-in-Command in its membership – was proud to support Shemia and turn this seat blue. My colleagues and I look forward to Shemia joining our ranks as we continue to elevate issues important to the states.”
Said DLGA Executive Director Roshan Patel, “Shemia is the kind of Secretary of State that will protect the right to vote and keep elections safe and secure. Serving as the state’s Second-in-Command, Shemia represents a strong bench for the Democratic Party for years to come.”
The DLGA is an independent voluntary political organization that provides resources and policy assistance to candidates in their campaigns for Lieutenant Governor. The DLGA is proud to support current Democratic Lieutenant Governors in 22 states and 2 U.S. territories.
