“Congratulations to Ghazala Hashmi on her historic victory in tonight’s Virginia primary. Virginians can count on Ghazala to be a tireless advocate as their next Lt. Governor—committed to expanding opportunity, defending the federal workforce and protecting a woman’s right to choose. As Virginia’s next Lt. Governor, Ghazala will be the country’s first female statewide elected Muslim American, a historic milestone that will inspire many during a time of uncertainty in our federal politics. The Democratic Lt. Governors Association is proud to endorse Senator Hashmi and will fully support her campaign in the general election.”
“Make no mistake—John Reid’s extreme credentials will be front and center this November. Alongside his running mate Winsome Sears, Reid supports a dangerous abortion ban, calls for deep cuts to the federal workforce, praises harmful tariffs, backs school voucher schemes that undermine public education, and opposes common-sense gun safety reforms. John Reid is all in on Trump’s MAGA agenda, and that’s all wrong for Virginia.”
