WASHINGTON – Democratic Lieutenant Governors Association (DLGA) Executive Director Kevin Holst released the following statement congratulating Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller and Gov. Wes Moore on their victory in tonight’s Maryland Democratic primary:
“The Democratic Lt. Governors Association is proud to congratulate Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller and Gov. Wes Moore on tonight’s primary victory in Maryland. As the first woman of color and immigrant elected to statewide office in Maryland, Lt. Governor Miller has delivered for Maryland families: advancing STEM education and equity, expanding mental health access, cutting red tape for small businesses, and bringing communities together through the state’s first Council on Interfaith Outreach. Alongside Gov. Moore, she has helped expand opportunity, protect Marylanders’ rights, and build an economy that leaves no one behind.
“While Dan Cox will serve as a rubber stamp for Donald Trump and Republicans in Washington’s attempts to rip away health care, attack reproductive freedom, and send costs soaring for working families, Aruna Miller and Wes Moore are the firewall Marylanders can count on. They have shown what compassionate, effective leadership looks like, and Marylanders know their rights, their families, and their futures are safe in their hands. The DLGA is proud to endorse and looks forward to supporting Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller and Gov. Wes Moore as they advance to the general election this fall.”
