As the first woman and first Latina elected Commissioner of Public Lands, she raised more than $15 billion for New Mexico’s public schools, grew renewable energy on state trust lands by more than 600%, and stood up to Trump’s attempts to fast-track drilling near sacred places like Chaco Canyon. A former teacher and chair of the House Education Committee, she has fought for New Mexico’s kids at every step. She knows how to make government work for working people.
